Emerging

I must admit, I have been a little lazy at updating my new blog...I really need to be better at it. I find that when I sit down at my computer, I start looking at other friends blogs, facebook, etc... and before you know it an hour, even 2 hours has gone by and I it is time to be doing something else. Hmmm...I guess I just need to use my time more wisely.

Trevor and I had a wonderful labor day weekend in Colorado. It was Trevor's 30th birthday as well as our friends Roni and Toren's wedding. We had never been to CO before so we decided to make the most of it. We spent the first night in Boulder and had a wonderful meal at a restaurant called Frasca. It was probably one of the best meals we have had. Boulder was a great town and reminded us of Charlottesville...only "crunchier"(as my friend Dana says). We then got up the next day and drove to Vail, stopping in Breckinridge on the way. Vail was absolutely beautiful. We took the gondola up to the top of the mountain(10,500 feet above sea level). I must admit, Trevor and I got slightly winded walking up some steps. 10,500 feet sure is high especially when you are coming from sea level in San Diego. The view was incredible. After Vail, we headed to Colorado Springs to The Broadmoore Hotel where the wedding was to be held. The Broadmoor is a lovely hotel and we had a very nice stay there. The wedding was beautiful and Toren and Roni looked very happy. We wish them all the best on there new marriage! We arrived back in San Diego on Monday evening and although the mountains are very beautiful, it sure was nice to be back by the ocean!

I will post some pictures soon.

30.5!

Today is my half-birthday.

I am 30.5 before my husband even turns 30. I know this may sound silly, but I have always celebrated my half-birthday(It is also my grandfather's birthday-he turned 91 today! and our 15 month wedding anniversary!). Trevor and I grilled halibut and portobello mushrooms with corn on the cob for the half-birthday celebration. It was a wonderful dinner.

Just curious, does anyone else celebrate their "half-birthday"?
