Induction Day!

In just a couple of hours, Trevor and I will be headed out to the hospital to be induced. We will finally be meeting our little girl very shortly. I have very mixed feelings. I am very excited but also a little anxious and nervous about what is to come. I pray that all will go smoothly with the induction and that our little baby girl cooperates and doesn't take too long to meet us. This has been a great pregnancy for me and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! The Lord answered our prayers about keeping my blood pressure low and I am so thankful to Him for that. God sure is faithful.

Trevor and I have been "nesting" ALL day long, or maybe it is just called giving our house a good all over cleaning. We can't bring our baby home into a dirty, messy house can we?

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers during this pregnancy. I have sure felt them. Please continue to pray that this evening goes smoothly and we have a healthy baby girl sometime tomorrow. My mom arrives on Tuesday to help and we are looking forward to seeing her and having her with us for the next 2 weeks. We will keep you posted and I will update the blog as soon as I can.

Spring Fever

April is such a wonderful month.  The sun is shining, the temperature is perfect, new leaves are budding on the trees and our baby will be here in just a couple of weeks!!  My belly continues to grow even though I just don't think it can get any bigger.  I will post an updated belly picture so you can see.  I am 37 weeks preggo and at my last Dr. Appt on Monday, the Dr said that I wasn't really dilated yet(despite my daily walks and other activities).  She did say that she didn't want me to go over my due date.  Because of that we set a date of being induced on Sunday night, April 26th.  I am just hoping that I begin to dilate and efface some so that if she decides to be stubborn and not come before the 26th, that I will be a good candidate for inducement.  Please pray that all goes smoothly, that my blood pressure continues to be controlled and that our little girl decides she wants to meet us before the 26th.

Last night, Trevor and I got free tickets to the Padres baseball game, it was military opening night.  Because we had free tickets, our seats were unfortunately 5 rows from the very top of the stadium.  Needless to say, I was out of breath when we finally arrived at our seats.  I was secretly hoping that climbing those stairs would put me in to labor(don't tell Trevor).  After the first bathroom break(right after the first inning), we decided to not return to our seats and instead walk all the way around the stadium and check out the view from every angle.  That was actually much more enjoyable than sitting in uncomfortable stadium seats.  We left the game after the 5th inning and The Padres ended up losing the game.  Hopefully their season will prove better than the opening games.  We'll see.

I am officially on maternity leave now and loving it!!  I started on April 1, to give me some time to myself and time to get ready for the baby.  When I am not at my weekly Dr. appointments, or at my biweekly non-stress tests, I am filling my time with washing baby clothes, cleaning the house, daily walks and prenatal yoga and getting everything organized and ready.  I just know that I will probably never feel "ready" for this baby, but at least the house will be in order, right?

Here are a few pictures from the baseball game last night and updated belly pics...ENJOY!!

Way too long

SO, I know it has been over 2 months since I last posted on here. I guess you could say I have been busy. I will be much better about posting, especially since we are only 3 months away from introducing our daughter to the world.

The only thing new around the Grant house, is preparing the nursery for baby. We have gotten our crib and dresser and are in the process of hanging a curtain to separate the baby room from the rest of the room which is also the guest room/junk room/office. I think we are hanging the curtain tonight so I will post some pictures of that hopefully soon. Several people have been asking to see pictures of my belly. I will post a few here, but stay tuned for some more later...

In these pictures, I am 24 weeks preggo, but I am now in my 26th week and growing more every day. I will post more pictures soon.

Greenville here I come!

Tomorrow night I take the red-eye to Greenville for the weekend! I am so excited because I haven't been there in over a year. The last time I was in Greenville was for Ginger and Craig's wedding back in August of 2007. Now, it is almost 2009! Time sure does fly.

Trevor has been gone for work the past 2 weeks and I must admit, I have gotten a lot done including cleaning the house but I sure have missed him!!! I realize that we tend to take each other for granted when we are with each other day in and day out. I have really missed his company and am looking forward to seeing him this weekend.

On a side note...our house seems to be taken over by fruit flies. These aren't the small little fruit flies that we are all used to, but large fruit flies that hover around every piece of food that you are eating. I don't know how to get rid of them. I tried putting out a bottle of "bait" with apple cider vinegar in an empty bottle with honey on the rim. When the fruit flies are lured in by the smell of the apple cider vinegar, they then get trapped in the bottle and are unable to fly out. It has worked somewhat well and killed about 15 flies, but there are still several flying around the house. Any ideas?? I am so ready to be rid of these insects!

Off to bed. Gotta get my sleep and prepare for the red-eye!
